Translation: Turn Off

अब छलकते हुए साग़र नहीं देखे जाते
तौबा के बाद ये मंज़र नहीं देखे जाते

ab chhalakte huye saaghar naheen dekhe jaate
tauba ke baad ye manzar naheen dekhe jaate

These overflowing goblets of wine, now I cannot bear to see
After renouncement (of wine), these sights I cannot bear to see

–

मस्त करके मुझे औरों को लगा मुँह साक़ी
ये करम होश में रहकर नहीं देखे जाते

mast karke mujhe auron ko laga munh saaqi
ye karam hosh mein rehkar naheen dekhe jaate

Intoxicate me first, O saqi! then shower your affection on others
These acts of yours, in my consciousness I cannot bear to see

–

साथ हरएक को इस राह में चलना होगा
इश्क़ में रहज़न-ओ-रहबर नहीं देखे जाते

saath har’ek ko is raah mein chalna hoga
ishq mein rehzan-o-rehbar naheen dekhe jaate

In the journey of love, everyone will have to go along together
No matter, whether guides on this path or highwaymen they might be

–

हमने देखा है ज़माने का बदलना लेकिन
उनके बदले हुए तेवर नहीं देखे जाते

humne dekha hai zamaane ka badalna lekin
unke badle huye tevar naheen dekhe jaate

I have seen (and endured) the fickleness of the whole world, yet
Their conduct (towards me) changing like this, I cannot bear to see
