मिर्ज़ा ग़ालिब | Mirza Ghalib — दिल-ए-नादाँ तुझे हुआ क्या है | dil-e-nadaan tujhe hua kya hai (with English translation)

Translation: Turn Off

dil-e-nadaan tujhe hua kya hai
aakhir is dard ki davaa kya hai

What has afflicted you, my naive heart, my mind
A cure for this malady, is there one, can one find?

hum hain mushtaaq aur vo bezaar
ya ilaahi ye maajra kya hai

My desire is ardent, while they1 remain indifferent
O Lord! What a predicament, what a bind

humko unse vafa ki hai ummeed
jo nahin jaante ke vafa kya hai

Why have I the expectation of their1 reciprocation
They1 who are to my love and devotion, blind

main bhi munh mein zabaan rakhta hoon
kaash poochho ke mudda’aa kya hai

I do have the heart and the tongue for it
But only if you ask, shall I speak my mind

mainne maana ke kuchh nahin hai ‘Ghalib’
muft haath aaye to bura kya hai

I admit he isn’t worth much, is he? that Ghalib!
But to get him gratis, surely, one wouldn’t mind?!
